Chee Cheong Fun At Bukit Tambun

My first posting shall be on food, glorious food. I made a promise to let the world know of this delicious Chee Cheong Fun (let's call it 'CCF' hereon) stall after being recommended by a friend and finding myself coming back for more occasionally whenever I am near or passing Bukit Tambun, Seberang Prai Selatan in Penang. Finally, I am able to post this blog after a few months of hiatus.

Anytime-is-a-good-time for CCF made from steaming hot rolled flat rice sheets served sliced and/or unwinded, spread with it's specially made delicious Penang rojak sauce, dashed with generous amount of sesame seed, spicy cooked chili paste, a splash of crispy sliced onion fries and a dab of oil. This stall's CCF has very good texture, smooth and tasty as I always would order a minimum of 3 rolls each time to go.
This CCF outlet has been opened for some time now drawing new and repeated customers far and wide by word of mouth. Bukit Tambun and nearby Batu Kawan are famous for its reasonably priced (used to be inexpensive!) seafood restaurants. If you will notice, the tow kay soh also fries Char Koay Teow.
Try this yummy CCF if you happened to be on the PLUS north-south highway. From Ipoh, exit at Bukit Tambun Toll and turn left at the junction. Go across the overhead bridge and make a 5 o'clock turn at the roundabout to Jalan Pahboi. You will see Green House Coffee House on the left. From Penang, upon exiting the Bukit Tambun Toll, make a 2 o'clock turn to Jalan Pahboi. (Update: The roads around this overhead bridge and roundabout are under expansion from July 2009)

The stall is opened from 8am to 5pm daily. For huge take-away orders or enquiry, you can contact the tow kay soh at 017-4836059. Happy eating !!
